Maya’s 2016 Book Release Gala

Drexel’s Maya Literary Magazine will host their 2016 Book Release Gala on May 6th in the Van Rensselear ballroom. Maya is an entirely undergraduate run literary magazine that has been around since 1967, and each year Maya’s influence on campus continues to grow. Maya accepts student poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art. Students on staff gain valuable skills in literary publishing.  Authors published in the magazine this year win a 100-dollar prize in each of the four categories for their contribution. In addition to publishing student work, Maya has held literary events around campus such as “Haiku Off” and a Quizzo fundraiser. This year will be their second gala celebrating Drexel student contributors. The gala is a semi-formal event that will take place from 7-9pm. It is 12 dollars for non-published guests. To obtain tickets for the Gala, email and include your first and last name and the number of tickets you wish to purchase in the body of the email.
